KSAB | Azerbaijan
Join KSAB as they hit the slopes on their unforgettable ski adventure to Azerbaijan!
Day 1 | KSAB Have Landed
We are here in Shahdag after a lovely drive up the mountain from Baku International Airport. After getting settled into our rooms and having a hearty dinner, we are heading to bed to prepare for the next 4 days in the snow!
Day 2 | First Day on the Slopes
Day 2 marked the moment everyone had been waiting for – our first full day of skiing in Shahdag Mountain Resort.
The day began with breakfast at the hotel before heading down to get fully kitted out with ski equipment. For many students, this was their first time putting on ski boots and helmets – an experience in itself! Once ready, students met their instructors and were introduced to the basics before heading out onto the slopes.
With a mix of beginner, intermediate, and advanced skiers in the group, it was fantastic to see each student working at their own level and building confidence throughout the day. From first glides on the beginner slopes to controlled runs further up the mountain, there was clear progress across the board.
Interestingly, Shahdag greeted us with hot and sunny conditions – unusual for this time of year – but with plenty of snow still covering the slopes, it didn’t take away from what was an incredible first day of skiing.
Movie Night @ Shadag Resort
Following the day’s skiing, students returned to the hotel to freshen up before dinner – giving everyone a chance to relax and reflect on their first experience on the mountain.
To round off a brilliant day, the group headed to a local cinema where they had a VIP screen all to themselves to watch Zootopia 2. Popcorn in hand, it was the perfect way to unwind after an active day on the slopes.
A fantastic first day of skiing – with plenty of progress already made and even more to come.
Day 3 | Day 2 on the Slopes and Confidence is Growing!
Day 3 on the trip marked our second day on the slopes at Shahdag Mountain Resort, and the progress was clear to see across all groups.
Students who were complete beginners just yesterday were now skiing with far more confidence. Intermediate and advanced skiers continued to refine their technique, taking on more challenging runs and pushing themselves further.
In the afternoon, high winds rolled in, meaning we had to shorten the ski session slightly for safety. While this brought an earlier finish than planned, it gave students a valuable opportunity to rest, recover, and recharge after two active days on the mountain.
And did that rest paid off this evening…
Karaoke Night brought the energy right back up! Students took to the stage with confidence, enthusiasm, and plenty of personality. From solo performances to group singalongs, the atmosphere was electric, with everyone cheering each other on and fully embracing the moment.
Day 4 – Milestones on the Mountain & The Big Baku Brain Battle
Day 4 brought a welcome change in conditions, with cooler temperatures making for ideal skiing weather at Shahdag Mountain Resort.
Most notably, today marked a huge milestone – every beginner skier graduated from the magic carpet to the green slopes. An incredible achievement in such a short space of time. Seeing students move from those first tentative steps to confidently skiing real runs has been nothing short of amazing.
Across the mountain, the intermediate and advanced groups continued to push themselves, refining technique, building speed control, and taking on more challenging terrain. The progress, effort, and resilience shown by all students has been outstanding.
After another fantastic day on the slopes, the energy carried into the evening with our themed quiz night – “The Big Baku Brain Battle.”
Students teamed up to test their knowledge across a range of fun and challenging rounds, with plenty of competitive spirit and laughter throughout. From quick-fire questions to creative challenges, it was a brilliant way to bring everyone together off the slopes.
A big congratulations to Team “Kings of Kings”, who claimed 1st place and took home the top honours on the night!
Another memorable day filled with progress, achievement, and team spirit – with the slopes continuing to deliver for everyone involved.
Day 5 | Final Day on the Slopes
Our final day on the slopes at Shahdag Mountain Resort was all about bringing everything together.
From the very first runs in the morning, it was clear just how far the students have come. Beginners who started the week on the magic carpet were now confidently skiing the green slopes, linking turns and controlling their speed with ease. The sense of achievement was clear to see – and well deserved.
The intermediate and advanced groups continued to push their limits, skiing with greater control, confidence, and flow. Whether it was refining technique or enjoying longer, smoother runs, the improvement across the week has been outstanding.
Most importantly, the slopes were filled with smiles, encouragement, and a real sense of team spirit – students supporting each other right through to the very last run.
