The Twedex Foundation is a brand new initiative dedicated to empowering underserved communities through the transformative power of education and innovation. The Foundation’s mission sis to create sustainable change by providing educational resources, innovative tools, and essential supper to communities in need.

The Twedex Foundation is an extension of the impactful work done by Trans World Educational Experiences, a renowned educational tour operator that has long been committed to fostering global understanding and development through immersive educational programmes. Building on this legacy, the Foundation aims to address the educational and developmental needs of underserved communities on a larger scale.

HOW WE AIM TO HELP

As a school tour operator, Trans World Educational Experiences visits Sri Lanka and other parts of the world with school groups on a regular basis.

We are always being asked how we can support our groups to leave a positive legacy after their tour has finished, and we believe the Twedex Foundation will allow us to do this.

Whether it’s painting the lines on a new sports court, supporting fundraising activities before a visit, or facilitating training and education for teachers and coaches who can pass their knowledge onto future generations of young people – it’s our aim to make these things happen.

OUR COMMITMENT

The Twedex Foundation is passionate about supporting young people in education and sports across the world.

We aim to use the connections and experience gained from 10+ years in the school travel industry to allow us to give back to the next generation of learners in some of our host countries.

Our commitment includes:

  • Redevelopment and ongoing maintenance of sports facilities
  • Provision of new sports equipment
  • Recruitment and employment of additional PE Teacher(s)
  • Assistance with establishment of school football programme
  • Ongoing training of school’s sports coaches and teachers

PARTNERSHIP

Our first partnership supporting Peraliya Sri Jinarathana Maha Vidyalaya, a remarkable school located in Hikkaduwa (Sri Lanka) kicked off in August 2024, nearly 20 years since the school was impacted by the 2004 tsunami.

Twedex has forged strong ties with the school’s staff and students in recent times, and we are delighted to be supporting the school with their efforts to enrich the lives of children from the local area.

It is our ambition that the partnership with Peraliya is the first of many fruitful relationships with schools and youth organisations across the world.
